Southern California Community Leaders Demand Investigation Into Crisis Lines, LGBT Chatrooms

Community and faith leaders in Santa Ana, Calif., are demanding answers from the local school board about the National Suicide Hotline allegedly referring students who indicate they are confused about their gender identity to a controversial LGBT advocacy organization without parental consent.
The group asked the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) trustees at their Oct. 11 board meeting to investigate The Trevor Project and its affiliated TrevorSpace chatrooms. They also requested the removal of "WE CARE" posters promoting the Trevor Project in school bathrooms and hallways.
The Trevor Project states it provides "24/7" access to "trained counselors" and confidential crisis support services to LGBT youth via text, chat, or calls....
