Lauren Boebert Declares Victory Over Challenger, Race Likely Headed to RecountRep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has declared victory over challenger Adam Frisch, even as the race appears headed to a recount.
Boebert, 35, is leading Frisch, 55, by just 551 votes, according to unofficial results from the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office as of Nov. 18.
Five counties still have ballots left to count.
Boebert’s lead had been over 1,000 votes earlier in the month.
Per Colorado law, a recount is automatically triggered if the final margin is less than or equal to 0.5 percent. Additionally, a party may request a recount even if the margin is not that close.
Boebert, who is seeking a second term in Congress, declared victory late Thursday....
