IRVINE, Calif.—Standing in front of an audience of hundreds, Michael Franzese—former mob boss of the Colombo crime family in New York—recalled a Forbes article from the 1980s that listed him as one of the 50 most wealthy mafia members, which he said led him to a grim conclusion that prompted him to share his experience there.
He was number 18, and 35-year-old, thyoungest on the list, he said.
"Out of that list of 50, some 30 odd years later, 48 are dead, one is still in prison, and number 50 is here—for one reason and one reason only," he said. "And that’s to give praise, honor, and glory to my Lord, and Savior, and my hero in life: Jesus Christ."...
