For example, ultraviolet rays and ionizing radiation are physical carcinogens; and asbestos pollution in old buildings, alcohol, and aflatoxin in stale peanuts are chemical carcinogens. There are also some bacteria and viruses that can cause cancer, such as Helicobacter pylori—which we can be infected with through food and water consumption, as well as human papillomavirus.
